Managing Editor

The Lens is the New Orleans area’s first nonprofit, nonpartisan public-interest newsroom, dedicated to unique investigative and explanatory journalism. Our mission is to educate, engage and empower readers with information and analysis necessary for them to advocate for a more transparent and just governance that is accountable to the public.
Core editorial duties
- Work with Lens beat reporters to develop pitches for Lens articles and series. 
- Assist with the reporting process as needed 
- Maintain weekly and long-term story budgets
- Chart an editorial vision for the website. 
- Promote stories via social media in collaboration with reporting staff
- Cultivate and work with outside news organizations
