Editor

The Local Reporter (https://thelocalreporter.press/ ) is a hyperlocal nonprofit news site that serves the Chapel Hill, Carrboro and southern Orange County NC area. We are seeking an experienced journalist to serve as Editor of our online newspaper. Applicants should be able to work with our freelance reporters to identify and edit original news articles on topics of local interest including government, business and education. As well, the applicant should be able to edit a series of guest columns on a variety of topics. This is a part-time position with an expected work load of approximately 20-25 hours per week. Applicants should reside in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metropolitan area and have knowledge of local political, economic and social issues. Compensation to be negotiated.
