The Graphics Desk at The New York Times is looking for an experienced editor to guide ambitious visual approaches to news, enterprise and investigative reporting. This editor will edit breaking news, conceive of new lines of reporting, shepherd fast-turn graphics projects, and push lines of enterprise reporting. The work often includes working with small teams of visualization experts to create stories. Some projects will involve leading larger teams that reach across multiple desks in the newsroom. The Graphics Desk is a close-knit unit of visual thinkers with a shared vision to creatively cover the news and develop design solutions in a collaborative setting. Even remotely, there is joint sketching and working through visual ideas in a combined effort.
