The New York Times is seeking a talented writer for a new newsletter to address a unique and pivotal moment, as tens of millions of workers in the United States alone prepare to return to the office after more than a year at home. We are looking for a candidate who can tackle a broad range of topics, including but not limited to: The value of face-to-face communication with coworkers, balanced against the burdens of commuting and living in high-cost areas. The brewing battle over hybrid working policies. The changing balance of power between managers and workers. The future of racial and gender equality in the workplace The future of cities, transportation, urban cores, telecommuting, parenting, schooling and the eternal question of appropriate attire. The job’s primary responsibility will be a newsletter published three times a week, but it will also include contributions to the Times Business section and working collaboratively with colleagues across the newsroom.
