The New York Times

Reporter, Styles (Temporary)
The Styles department is looking for a US-based enthusiastic, committed reporter to join the fashion team for a six-month period from October-April. The ideal candidate is uncovering, defining, and delving into conversations around what we wear, the people and movements driving that evolution, and how it expresses and reflects the broader political and cultural moment, looking not simply at what is on the runways or in the stores, but at the different communities shaping style in the broadest sense. You should be plugged into both life in the digital realm and the street, and will need an open mind, a deep curiosity and a commitment to nuance when covering the characters at the center of your stories. Be prepared to bring loads of ideas, work quickly and jump on news as it happens, as well as to experiment with writing traditional reported stories, explainers, visual pieces, bursts, takeaways and story forms yet to be invented.
