New York Times Opinion is ramping up its audio ambitions. The medium is ideal for showcasing unique, diverse and provocative voices and conversations, which have long been at the core of our mission. As part of our growing portfolio, we are launching a new longform interview show hosted by veteran journalist and podcast host Kara Swisher. In her new podcast, she’ll continue her work holding major tech figures to account, while expanding her scope to political leaders, regulators, CEOs, and innovators in science, culture, and entertainment. She’ll interrogate people who hold power, and those who are influencing our world from less traditional corners. We are looking for a Supervising Editor to shape the new show in partnership with Kara and Opinion leadership. This person should have a deep knowledge of the intersections of power between media, technology, politics, business and entertainment. You should be a journalist who has experience building impactful shows that draw big audiences and are helmed by driven and curious hosts. And you should understand how to build newsmaking, longform interviews week after week. This is an opportunity for a journalist and showrunner who loves building things from scratch. Patience, persistence and impeccable news judgment are essential.
