The New York Times Audio team is building on the success and journalism of “The Daily” to bring more of our newsroom reporting to air in a new show, The Headlines.
The producer will work alongside the editors, producers and the host to create a sound-rich show highlighting the big news stories of the day and finding the perfect audio to help tell those stories. The show’s team will use the journalistic rigor and the power of The Times’ unique reporting to deliver listeners U.S. and global news, as well as enterprise and exclusive New York Times stories.
The producer must have a strong understanding of the news, experience structuring stories and exceptional audio production skills. Because this show includes both scripted and non-narrated stories, producers should have experience leading interviews to get the best tape possible and also have experience writing copy for audio. Producers on the show are expected to build the show and coach the host on a tight deadline.
