Deputy Editor, Climate Desk
The deputy editor will work closely with reporters in New York and Washington to conceive and shape stories focused on climate and environmental policy and the dramatic effects on the nation and around the world. This deputy position focuses on breaking news and driving the coverage of climate-related news events. Candidates should have extensive experience editing news, enterprise, explanatory and investigative stories. We are looking for someone who can skillfully work with reporters across a range of formats, from razor-sharp analytical pieces to deeply complex investigative pursuits. Candidates should have a clear track record of driving coverage, enlightening readers, and improving every story. The Climate Desk is a highly collaborative team; editors and reporters work closely together to experiment with new storytelling forms that resonate with readers.
