Earlier this year, we hired our first reporter to cover Hilton Head and Beaufort County, SC. What we quickly learned is that there is a keen interest in this region and a hunger for the kind of in-depth reporting for which The Post and Courier has become known. So, we are adding three more positions. We are hiring a reporter in Hilton Head to cover local government, and we’re hiring general assignment reporters to cover Beaufort/Port Royal and Bluffton. Beaufort County offers an incredible quality of life with its beautiful beaches, world-class golf courses, and rich history. The region’s appeal is leading to fast growth, with all the social, economic and environmental challenges that come with it. Reporters will cover a range of topics, related not only to resort and retirement communities, but also to families, workers, students, artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, and public sector employees. We want insightful, penetrating coverage of this important part of South Carolina.
