Municipal Reporter

The Quad-City Times and Moline Dispatch-Argus are seeking a reporter to cover a municipal beat. The Quad-Cities is a cluster of riverfront cities in Iowa and Illinois with a population of about 475,000. You’d join a team covering government in the metro. We need someone who can hold City Hall accountable, cover the inner workings of government and make plain the complexities of bureaucracy. The beat includes everything from city council meetings to interviews with presidential candidates in the Iowa Caucuses. You’ll join a team of experienced government reporters eager to coach and help each other succeed. The best candidates will be proven producers, with previous newsroom experience covering a related beat, though candidates with strong clips from other beats will be considered.
