Magazine Editor

The Real Deal — the leading publication covering real estate in New York City, South Florida, Los Angeles and Chicago — is looking for a full-time editor to spearhead a new quarterly magazine focused on the suburban markets around New York and edit stories for TRD's monthly NYC magazine.

The job includes coming up with story ideas on major real estate players and trends in the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey, assigning/working with reporters, editing features, collaborating with designers on art and layout concepts, and everything else that goes into putting out a monthly magazine.

Experience editing long-form and narrative news stories is essential. Candidates should have a team-player mentality and bring ideas to our growing and entrepreneurial newsroom. Hybrid reporter editors and adept reporters looking to transition into editing are welcome to apply. Knowledge of magazine production and a background in real estate/business journalism is a plus.
