As journalists, our job is to help people understand what’s happening in their communities. There is not a more critical time for independent, local reporting than today. What we are experiencing is unprecedented, and the pandemic does not absolve the entrenched daily challenges millions face in our communities. We believe shining a light leads to greater equity. And that there is opportunity to empower people with the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. The Sacramento Bee is seeking a creative, high-energy journalist with previous engagement experience to join our team. You will be primarily responsible for executing tactics that deepen trust and build relationships within underserved audiences. Topically, your primary focus will be on how coronavirus is impacting vulnerable communities as it pertains to housing security, financial independence and domestic violence in California’s Central Valley.
