The Seattle Times’ features department is looking for an Assistant Features Editor to help lead our team. The features department covers culture/life, food, communities, travel, outdoors, arts and entertainment and local events. Ideally, you are a team player, a good communicator, a strong story editor, a confident leader, are willing to coach writers and also have experience assigning and working with freelancers on stories. We want someone who can help chart and drive our overall features coverage by identifying relevant stories to tell and ensuring that we are covering local arts and culture in ways that serve our diverse readership. It’s a bonus if you have a working interest in travel, outdoors, Seattle-area events and local culture, and some experience using web analytics to inform coverage.
