Education / Sports Reporter

Looking to work with the top daily newspaper in Wyoming? The Sheridan Press needs an education/sports reporter to join its team. The Sheridan Press allows its staff members to flex their journalistic muscles while having fun at the office. The Sheridan Press publishes six days a week in print and online platforms, with a bountiful social media, online and community presence. The Sheridan Press prides itself in stability and forward-focused leadership. Family owned and operated, The Press encourages creative thinking and deep dives into hard news journalism. The position available is education and sports reporter. The beat reporter covers Sheridan College and three K-12 school districts in Sheridan County, along with localizing state and national education news. Additionally, the reporter will assist our full-time sports reporter with sports coverage during the school year, typically on weekends. We’re looking for someone with the chops to dig into data, ask difficult questions and tell the “special sauce” features about youth in our community. A strong understanding of community journalism is a must for anyone applying. The Press office sits a block away from the center of Sheridan, with ample access to everything the county has to offer, including outdoor adventures, a hopping live music and craft brew scene, cozy coffee shops and constant activities from which to fill a weekend to-do list.
