A senior role within our Features and Lifestyle team, commissioning and overseeing features and lifestyle content that showcase and develop our top-quality Telegraph journalism.
Key responsibilities
● Work with the Head of Lifestyle and the senior lifestyle departments; health, travel, fashion & beauty, gardening, interiors and motoring on daily digital stories and weekend longreads.
● Ensuring a clear vision and maintaining the high editorial quality and subscription targets expected of the Lifestyle team to ensure they deliver top quality journalism on all platforms, hitting subscription and digital targets.
● Liaise with other Features and Lifestyle department heads, all freelance contributors plus other Telegraph departments as and when required.
● Work with Head of Lifestyle to generate exciting new projects that contribute to our subscription strategy
Essential vs desirable skills required for the role
● Significant experience of writing, commissioning and editing, on time and to deadline, on national publications.
● Significant experience of, and contacts within, the health, fashion, beauty and features markets.
● A track record in ideas generation and innovation across all platforms.
● Experience of managing freelance contributors.
● Experience of budgeting.
● Strong interpersonal skills - including the ability to communicate effectively with heads of department, and across departments.
● Experience of leading an editorial team.
● Experience of liaising with commercial teams and advertisers.
