The junior production journalist (PJ) will be given on-the-job training in sub-editing and digital publishing in one of the most dynamic, exciting newsrooms in Fleet Street. This role is ideal for someone starting out in journalism and looking to find a role they can grow into long-term.
They will receive close mentoring by senior news sub-editors to develop their skills in copy editing, headline writing and advanced production skills for both online and print platforms. They will be expected to show initiative, the ability to learn quickly and a capacity to work to tight deadlines.
As part of The Telegraph’s newsroom-based team, the junior PJ will build relationships with wider members of the news department, from the news desk to reporters and picture editors, to increase their understanding of the Telegraph’s content and audience, and to work towards creating a higher-quality product.
