Part of News Corp, The Sun is a global publisher and one of the biggest news brands in the UK. Our talented, and diverse team publishes the best coverage of news, sport, TV, showbiz, and lifestyle. In early 2020 we launched a US edition, hitting all traffic and revenue targets to become the fastest growing news site in the US. We are now looking for a freelance Lifestyle Reporter to join our UK hub in London.
The successful applicant will join a growing team with part-time and full-time shifts available. The role is suitable for all experience levels, from a recent graduate reporter looking to specialize, to more seasoned lifestyle journalists. The shift rate is £120. Staff jobs do become available for outstanding freelancers interested in a more permanent position with the business.
The office is based in London, but remote candidates from across the UK will be considered.

Key accountabilities:
To spot and produce brilliant, traffic-driving stories ahead of our competitors
To source amazing real-life stories, impressive news follows, or great celebrity chats
To help create a varied ideas list that includes viral stories, emerging trends, and original takes on news/entertainment lines
A keen eye for visuals to ensure stories are always illustrated with the best pictures, videos, and graphics
Ability to produce sparkling copy at speed
Knowledge of SEO and social publishing
