The Sun is a global publisher and one of the biggest news brands in the UK. Our talented and diverse team publishes the best coverage of news, sport, TV, showbiz, consumer and lifestyle.

In early 2020 we launched a US edition and have grown the business in the past three years to a 140+ company, hitting all traffic and revenue targets.

We are currently looking for a full time Technology and Science Reporter to join our team, The shifts would be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm EST.

The office is based in Midtown, New York, but remote candidates are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, collaborative team member, who thrives in a fast-paced digital news environment; is organized, and is able to juggle multiple projects.

The position is freelance with the possibility of becoming a full-time staffer.

Pay Rate: $200 - $250 per day

Key Skills and Experience:

Proven ability to cover everything from the launch of an iPhone to the ongoing search for extraterrestrial life, whilst finding agenda-leading exclusives.
Ability to write brilliant headlines in a tabloid style at speed.
Expert knowledge of social media and a good understanding of SEO.
A passion for bringing tech and science to a mass audience.
Understanding of The Sun brand and audience.
Being a self-starter is key – and you will need to thrive under the pressure of a busy newsroom.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
