The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Washington, D.C.-based reporter to help drive our coverage of U.S. fiscal policy. You will be responsible for covering the Biden administration’s top policy makers, the Treasury Department, the federal budget, the federal debt limit and federal spending programs. You will collaborate with WSJ colleagues around the world covering global economic policy, including the U.S. roles in groups like the G20 and G-7. You should have at least five years of experience doing outstanding work for a major news organization, ideally on the economy and policy. You should be skilled at getting scoops, covering breaking news at digital speed, explaining the details and showing how policy matters to people’s lives. You should be adept at conceptualizing and bringing to life the type of deeply reported, memorable, revelatory, visually rich enterprise stories that distinguish The Wall Street Journal’s best work. You should also be a terrific team player.
