The Wall Street Journal is looking for a news assistant to join our Off Duty section. You will take on a wide range of administrative and journalistic responsibilities in the digital and print production of content relating to food, design and travel, as well as assist our digital editor with digital publishing and social media. You will support a busy digital and print section with many moving parts, manage a regular flow of products in and out of the department, proofread, fact-check, edit recipes and more. Some experience in reporting and feature writing is required, and news assistants are encouraged to propose and write short features. We are looking for someone who is organized, meticulous and passionate about our lifestyle subject areas, including food, travel and design. You should also be comfortable working with our digital teams and learning how to use editing and publishing platforms, promote our work on social media and optimize stories for digital performance.
