The Wall Street Journal is looking for an experienced and enterprising reporter to cover the intersection of business and politics in Europe. The European Union has become a global force in setting rules of the game for business -- from Big Tech and social media to the environment and trade -- with an influence stretching far beyond the boundaries of the 27-nation bloc. Fundamental to this beat is breaking news in areas of EU oversight that WSJ readers care deeply about, particularly competition and antitrust regulation of tech giants. Other areas of focus include trade, taxation and environmental regulation. You will need to be or become deeply sourced within relevant arms of the European Commission, among top national regulators and with lobbyists. Constant dialog with sources will be vital. Within the Journal, you will collaborate regularly with tech and M&A reporters and counterparts covering regulation in the U.S. and Asia.
