The Wall Street Journal is looking for an experienced, creative, digitally minded editor with superb news judgment for our fast-paced Publishing Desk in New York. We're looking for a journalist who understands the importance of audience engagement, is proficient in SEO and is excited about innovative storytelling techniques. We want an editor who is invigorated by the demands of a 24-hour news cycle and passionate about delivering top-quality stories and visuals to readers across our various publishing platforms. You will uphold WSJ's high standards through precise and concise editing, sharp headlines and distinctive presentation. You will independently make decisions about breaking news, coordinate with coverage chiefs on strategy on the top news of the day and work closely with our news bureaus and visuals editors. You also will edit feature stories and graphics across a variety of core subjects. You will be a leader on the team, overseeing projects, directing the work of colleagues and helping other editors grow. This role requires schedule flexibility -- you will primarily work evening and weekend hours. You will report to the Editing Chief. You may start this position remotely but will eventually be based in our New York office.
