Summer 2023 U.S. Digital Platform Internship

New Posted 18 March 2023 | New York, NY | The Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal is looking for applicants to join its digital platform team in New York. Our digital platform team is responsible for delivering our journalism in all the places readers find us. Editors on this team collaborate across the newsroom to ensure our stories are reaching the right audience at the right times. During your internship, you will split your time between the on- and off-platform teams. The on-platform team ensures that WSJ.com and our WSJ mobile apps convey the day’s news priorities and are giving our audiences the best possible experience at all hours of the day. This team is uniquely focused on our subscribers, their needs and habits and the news experience we create to best serve them. This team curates our native platforms and manages our mobile push and email alerts.

Millions more readers discover the Journal through third-party channels. The off-platform team ensures that our journalism is distributed effectively across these channels, from Facebook and Twitter to Instagram and Snapchat. This team works directly with our coverage areas to craft compelling social plans and sharp language for our most important stories to ensure they find the biggest possible audience. They are uniquely focused on reaching new readers that could become potential Journal subscribers. The ideal intern candidate brings an enthusiasm for our brand of journalism, including both breaking and enterprise news. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates excellent news judgment, strong editing and sharp writing skills and has a sense of the ideal visual presentation for various platforms. Familiarity with digital publishing and analytics tools is a plus.
