The Wall Street Journal is looking for a supervising development producer to help lead a team of short-form video producers to create timely video features, recurring franchises and in-depth explainers for our WSJ YouTube channel. Top candidates for this position have excellent editorial and team-management skills, as well as a track record of developing creative approaches to video storytelling. You will be expected to partner with stakeholders across all of our coverage areas to generate new video ideas and work with a team to execute stories under tight deadlines. This is a hands-on role and we are seeking a well-versed producer who has created a range of video concepts. You will function as the idea generator in collaboration with other producers and video journalists. You will be expected to attend editorial meetings with a wide range of ideas on a variety of topics. In this position you will guide video journalists through research and pre-production, oversee field and studio production, and help craft stories in post production. The position is based in our New York City office and reports to the Executive Producer of the WSJ YouTube team.
