The Wall Street Journal is looking for a video journalist to produce clear and compelling explainer videos as part of its New York-based video team. Video journalists on this team are responsible for crafting insightful, informative and timely videos ranging in length from two to seven minutes. We’re looking for someone with a professional background in journalism and deep experience reporting, conceptualizing and executing motion graphics, shooting live and stop-motion video, as well as shooting and editing skills. You should have a track record of creating under deadline constraints highly-visual, in-depth videos that make sense of complicated topics and developments, with a specific focus on the Journal’s core coverage areas. Exceptional technical skills and creativity are essential for this role. You will report to the Executive Producer of In-Depth Explanations. While you will likely start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office.
