Dow Jones Newswires is looking for a Platform Editor for NewsPlus, its web portal for financial professionals. NewsPlus features company, markets and economic news, features and analysis from Dow Jones Newswires in real-time. NewsPlus is a crucial component of Dow Jones’s Professional Information Business, and is highly valued by banks, financial services companies, brokers and other market professionals. Working on a shift-based system that includes some unsociable hours, NewsPlus editors form part of a team that selects content from across Dow Jones publications, including The Wall Street Journal, curating stories for publication on the NewsPlus platform. You will also curate and publish newsletter briefingsat key points during the day that serve to keep professional customers up to date with major news and market moves, in addition to some other material as required. You must be comfortable working in a digital news environment. You will use news judgment to assess stories for publication. Strong written English, excellent news judgment, a close eye for detail and good organizational and prioritization skills are essential. A demonstrable interest in current affairs, economics, business and finance are also key, as is an interest in how news is consumed.
