Rome Bureau Chief

The Washington Post is seeking a Rome bureau chief to join a team of reporters dedicated to covering Europe during an unsettled period, when concerns about energy, the economy, climate and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have caused deep unease and political flux. The bureau chief is primarily responsible for coverage of Italy, the Vatican and parts of southern Europe but may also be enlisted for coverage elsewhere in the region or beyond. The agenda will include examination of Italy’s plunge into right-wing governance as well as scrutiny of the Catholic Church in a period of transition.
