The Washington Post is seeking an enterprising, creative and meticulous journalist to manage our expanding line of workplace power rankings, headlined by the local Top Workplaces program, now in its 10th year. For this annual program, The Post partners with a third party to survey employees in the greater Washington area about company culture, direction and leadership. Those surveys produce 200 winners, who are profiled in print and digital publications, and honored at a large awards ceremony (held last year at D.C.’s Union Market). A second program focused on government workplaces is under discussion, as are ideas for additional rankings. We are looking for a self-starter to lead this effort. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished journalist, with the skills to deliver a top-quality, magazine-style publication both online and in print. We need a creative thinker who can help us expand this successful franchise. And we need a people person who enjoys interacting with employees and executives at nominated companies and who can emcee the awards ceremony with flair from the stage each spring.
