Reuters is seeking a talented journalist for its Brasilia bureau to break news on regulation, economic policy, telecommunications and infrastructure. The successful candidate will write primarily in Portuguese, and should also be an experienced editor, capable of developing original ideas for initiative reporting. This reporter will reinforce our coverage in Brasilia at a time when the new right-leaning government of President Jair Bolsonaro begins to formulate business-friendly policies for Latin America's largest economy and seeks to balance the federal budget by privatizing dozens of state companies. Bolsonaro’s economic team hopes to draw investment into public private partnerships and concessions to overhaul Brazil’s creaking infrastructure. We are seeking someone with a proven track record of multitasking and working in a team. A strong level of English is mandatory.
