Asia Energy Correspondent: Renewables, Power, Gas & Carbon

New Posted 16 August 2022 | Singapore, SG | Thomson Reuters

Reuters is seeking a correspondent to help drive our coverage of Asia power markets, gas consumption and the energy transition across some of the world’s most populous and fastest growing economies. As part of the Reuters global energy and commodities reporting team, the successful candidate will write agenda-setting stories on how Asian companies and countries are navigating the path to net zero by increasing power output, upgrading grids to handle the electrification of transport, reducing emissions from power generation and industry while ensuring fast-growing energy needs are still met. The beat is wide-ranging. You will cover the largest power markets in the region, gas demand growth, grid upgrades and outages and the launch of major new renewable energy projects. You will break news on and chronicle policy and regulatory changes that affect power supply, utility fuels, the cost of emissions, carbon markets and the deployment of nuclear power across the region. Breakthroughs in carbon capture technology and advances in the development of the hydrogen economy will also be fodder for smart stories that explore Asia’s energy transition from all sides.
