Central and Eastern Europe Energy Correspondent
Reuters is looking for an experienced reporter to cover energy transition policy and its impact on industry, as well as the effects of climate change throughout central Europe. The successful candidate will break news ahead of the competition and dig out market-moving exclusives and investigative stories on the political power of the coal industry, transition strategies of national utilities, M&A activity, and the region’s complex relations with Russia, its main provider of energy supplies. He or she will have to build sources within governments with a history of opaque decision-making and corruption, formulate pitches for enterprise stories and deliver crisp copy. Based in Warsaw, the job is an opportunity to develop richly-illustrated multimedia stories on such issues as the impact of logging in ancient forests, industrial degradation and the shrinking water supplies.
