Reuters is looking for a dynamic journalist with great ideas and experience reporting on commodities to cover China’s vast agriculture sector, based in Beijing. The successful candidate will break news and report and write insightful and high-value initiative stories on the trade and production of foodstuffs that feed China’s 1.4 billion people, covering everything from grain harvests and food security to hog prices, animal health and international trade (including trade disputes). The China Agriculture Correspondent will have a penchant for source-building and a knack for reporting and writing high-impact stories, from scoops to features, on the world’s biggest consumer of most key agricultural commodities. This is a great opportunity for a journalist eager to build deep expertise and report from the field – literally – to deliver outstanding stories for a global audience of both specialist and general readers.
