Reuters is looking for an insightful and driven correspondent to cover Southern Africa’s economies, including South Africa, the continent’s most industrialised economy and a heavily traded emerging market; Angola, its second-largest oil producer and OPEC member; Zambia, a major copper producer and first COVID-era debt casualty; and Mozambique and Namibia, two countries hoping to transform their economies by developing major gas and oil reserves. Based in Johannesburg, the post offers an enterprising reporter the opportunity to report on a wide range of issues, from how fiscal and monetary policies are impacting companies, consumers and investors, to how the pandemic, climate change, high debt loads and soaring global commodities prices are impacting the region’s economies.
