Luxury and Wealth Correspondent, Switzerland

Reuters is looking for an ambitious journalist with solid news judgment, a passion for storytelling and getting scoops to report on wealth in Switzerland. In this role, which would straddle corporate and financial news, you would produce deeply reported stories about what the world’s super-rich are doing with their money, build a source base among the wealth managers looking after it, the luxury and retail companies where they are spending it as well as produce multimedia stories on luxury goods such as Swiss watches. You would also report on broader themes such as the fate of Russian oligarchs, follow the money into the darker corners of finance, and how the wealthy manage their assets amid the return of inflation. You would coordinate with luxury and financial correspondents across Europe to develop and execute story ideas across formats including text, multimedia and graphics. If you have a flair for writing and a curiosity about money and how it makes the world go ‘round, then this may be the right job for you. You would work as part of a multilingual team that covers Switzerland’s varied file that spans Swiss banks and pharmaceutical companies as well as international organizations such as the World Health Organization or the United Nations.
