Supreme Court Correspondent (Level 1 Journalist)

Reuters is looking for an experienced and talented correspondent to join our award-winning team covering the U.S. Supreme Court. This comes at a critical time as the court's 6-3 conservative majority is assertively flexing its muscle, making major changes to American life as it re-examines decades-old precedents. The court is poised to take on major cases in the year ahead on hot-button issues including voting rights and college affirmative action programs. We are looking for candidates who already have strong sources around the court, or a proven ability to develop them, and a record of producing exclusive and enterprising stories. To succeed in this role, the candidate will need to think creatively about sourcing and will travel as needed to build contacts. The field is crowded – the correspondent will need a strong competitive streak while being collaborative within the organization, working closely with colleagues who have sources in various areas.
