The News Adviser assists the assistant director/Student Publications adviser by advising the student editors and writers in the Editorial Department of The Pitt News, and by providing any help and support requested by the Editorial staff, such as training, coaching, recruitment, and career development. Creates and oversees Editorial budget and critiques the daily newspaper. Liaison to Pitt News Advisory Board. Bachelor's degree in journalism or an equivalent field; at least two years of professional experience as a working journalist on a daily newspaper. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted per university guidelines.
