Media Relations Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ideates and executes on ways to continually improve the agency’s approach to media relations.
May participate in new business opportunities either as requested or voluntarily, including strategic and tactical input on media relations program opportunities
Shows proactive contributions to improving Vested as a business, our client service offerings, and being a great place to work
Demonstrates a deep understanding of the overall financial services industry, with knowledge across buy- and sell-side, banking, capital markets, and more, from front- to back-office as well as associated areas such as fintech
Demonstrates a deep understanding of the traditional and online media that cover financial services, as well as influencers in the industry
Proactively consults clients on integrated marketing and communications strategies, with a particular focus on leveraging media as part of those programs
Demonstrates increasing knowledge of multi-channel programs and is able to lead the Earned component team of an integrated program
Understands how different channels can be applied to solve client problems/objectives
Is able to confidently articulate the benefits of paid, owned, earned, and shared media and how to potentially leverage these channels to deliver better client programs
Plan and run media relations programs; identify media contacts, build relationships, and secure coverage
Upholds relationships with key client contacts effectively and to the benefit of our teams and the firm overall
Develops relationships with key media on behalf of the agency and our clients
Demonstrate writing skills, with the ability to develop and edit high-quality materials such as communications plans.
Demonstrate ability to effectively develop a full range of written materials including press releases, byline articles, speeches, client correspondence, and reports
