Deputy Editor

Walker Lovell is recruiting on behalf of a global business information provider for a Deputy Editor specialised in Hardwood.

You will be responsible to generate price assessments and market intelligence crucial to the North American hardwood products industry. Additionally, you will contribute to expanding the influence of data and news within the industry.

Principal Responsibilities:

Assess hundreds of prices weekly
Provide insightful market commentary.
Generate market news and analysis.
Identify and establish new sources while maintaining a broad network of industry contacts.
Edit copy and peer-review price assessments to guarantee compliance with published methodologies.

Key Interfaces:

Collaborate with an experienced team of editors on a remote basis to produce HMR’s publications.
Engage with colleagues in other divisions of the Forest Products business, including analysts and economists.
Work closely with marketing and events teams to broaden the reach of our price data and market reporting.
Report to the managing editor.

Experience:

In-depth knowledge and experience in the hardwood industry.
Some professional writing experience.
Strong, concise writing and editing skills.
Strong interviewing skills.
Ability to meet multiple weekly and daily deadlines.
