The Washington Examiner wishes to hire a Breaking News Reporter to add to its award-winning news team. This job is for someone passionate about politics, policy, and wider news in Washington D.C., America's heartland, and nationwide. The right candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, pitching and authoring several stories daily. Role will include covering politics at both the national and local levels, general assignment news, sport, media, entertainment, and more. Shifts will vary and the successful candidate should be comfortable working nights and weekends. The job is based in Washington D.C. although the Examiner currently offers a hybrid in-office/at-home schedule.
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or political science
A minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in reporting.
Self-Starter and persistent
Keen eye for and attention to detail and accuracy
