The detailee(s) selected for this detail will be assigned to the IT System and Services Branch with the Board Operations Division of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and will serve as a Web Content Editor and is expected to manage the web content lifecycle of information published on PTAB's websites.
The detailee will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Coordinates all PTAB-related content published or posted for customers on PTAB public-facing websites under the purview of the PTAB business unit.
Coordinates the planning, drafting, editing, approving and publication of web content.
Maintains quality control across PTAB business unit content areas (links, photos, functionality, and content).
Ensures adherence to usability standards, accessibility (508 compliance), technical standards, and Plain Language guidelines ) maintained by the Office of the Chief Communication Officer (OCCO).
Performing various data work processes to create process charts/diagrams which will be used to support the automation development.
This is a competitive career detail NTE one year. The detailee will be selected for a minimum of 120 days which may be extended in 120 day increments up to, but no more than one year. This detail is expected to begin in September 2023.
Priority for selection will be given to those qualified candidates who have not had a career development detail or those with the least amount of service on a career development detail within the last four years. Except in extraordinary circumstances, an employee shall not serve on a career development detail a second time in the same area.
The detail is open to all eligible GS-11, GS-12 and GS-13 non-supervisory USPTO employee(s). You will be selected at the grade of your position of record. WHEN APPLYING TO THIS DETAIL, PLEASE APPLY TO YOUR CURRENT GRADE LEVEL. Higher level pay for this detail assignment is not authorized.
This is non-bargaining unit position. These detail hours are not considered production related for production award purposes.
Production employees may work an 80/20 schedule if required to do so by their respective business unit.
Telework authorized. Hoteling/TEAP are authorized.
Relocation expenses or temporary duty expenses (TDY) are not authorized for this detail and will not be paid.

These detail hours are not considered production related for production award purposes. You will maintain your current bargaining unit status while serving on this detail.

Qualifications
As indicated above, this detail is open to all current non-probationary GS-11, GS-12 and GS-13 USPTO employees with at least a Fully Successful rating of record in the most recent rating performance. To be eligible for this position, the candidate must possess a thorough working knowledge of Patent automations systems, particularly as they apply to patent application processing.
