SUMMARY

The Web Copywriter sits on the ecommerce team. This role works closely with the ecommerce, marketing and content teams, and will be responsible for content and copy across various platforms and marketing channels, including product copy. The ideal candidate has a passion for fashion, works well in a fast-paced environment, has a keen attention to detail, and is a creative thinker with excellent writing and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Brainstorm style names & write product descriptions and search terms for all new launches, based on feedback from design and production teams
Proofread, edit and optimize on-page content to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistent style, and adherence to SEO best practices in partnership with the SEO agency
Develop copy for emails, including subject line and pre-headers
Write push notifications for app, and provide weekly reporting on PN performance
Write ~4 blog articles/month for the website on a regular basis to help drive acquisition
Help implement blog articles on site in the backend of Shopify
Manage the site’s FAQs - edit/add as needed based on voice of customer reports and working with the customer service team to address various topics (including for the Club Mumu loyalty program)
Create promotional copy based on analytics and best practices to drive conversion while remaining true to the brand voice, as well as writing promotional disclaimer copy
Support marketing in copy for subject lines, push notifications and SMS
Help with misc. site updates (e.g. updating products, archiving skus, etc.)
Help continually QA all areas of the site and app, including, but not limited to, new product launches, search, navigation, links, etc.
Understand and leverage site analytics and various analytics tools to determine best copy and content strategy
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional writing and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and in changing direction as needed; must be able to prioritize multiple projects and be highly organized
Must be able to execute and turn in work to meet deadlines
PC literate and comfortable using Google suite programs (docs, sheets, etc), as well as knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel
Candidate must be a team player and be comfortable with flexibility in regards to job responsibilities
Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
Self-starter

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
Minimum 1 - 3 years professional copywriting & SEO experience
Knowledge of the fashion industry, fashion terms & merchandising is a plus
Shopify experience preferred
