We are looking for a Website Content Editor on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in Harwell, UK, to support the Marcom team in the Telecommunications and Integrated Applications (TIA) directorate as well as the Communications, Outreach, & Education Group (COEG) in the Science directorate. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
Create highly shareable content, original copy and edit content for a range of communications materials;
Keep a log identifying the requests, requested date of article, date of publication ready, the actual date of publication;
Write fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action;
Vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, companies, or target audience at hand;
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of area of expertise, expect to regularly interact with client team;
Collaborate with technical teams from concept development to delivery of final product;
Stay updated on appropriate ESA style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging;
Plan, create and evaluate written material;
Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce compelling content;
Research and understand needs and target audiences;
Present copy concepts and final deliverables;
Additional tasks might include:
Provide typical news articles and background information features about TIA/ARTES/Space Solutions activities;
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and industry trends;
Research and understand needs and target audiences;
Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials;
Collaborate with existing Marcom and technical teams from concept development to delivery of final product.
A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Business Administration, or Communications;
At least 4 years of relevant experience in copywriting;
Previous experience with editing for a variety of media (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media);
Knowledge of social media tools and strategy, as well as online publishing tools;
Familiarity with online publishing tools;
Excellent writing skills, with outputs mainly in English;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
Knowledge of other ESA languages is an asset;
Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK.
