JOB OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director/Editor is a member of the GBH Creative team, reporting to the Creative Manager of the on-air and creative services branch of the department. The AD/Editor creates on-air break and marketing materials, working with teams across the Foundation to conceptualize and execute creative projects utilizing motion graphics, editing, shooting and assisting in general production work. The AD/Editor will also execute many projects from start to finish in a self-directed manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the creation of on-air breaks, marketing materials and advertising creative by working closely with the Creative team to implement and manage on-air priorities and inventory, including the scheduling, recording and logging of promotional videos.
Conception, production and delivery of all underwriting and sponsorship credits and Pledge TV materials for GBH’s television channels, including motion graphics, editing, post-production, packaging, schedule management and database entry.
Assist other members of the team in the production of their work, including shooting on location and in studio.
SKILL SET
Excellent communication, planning, time-management and follow-through skills demonstrated via timely and informative communications with all parties. Able to think ahead to establish efficient and appropriate courses of action.
Strong production and post production skills paired with an ability to tell stories through moving images and sound.
Proficient in After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop and an understanding of GBH and PBS technical specs and deliverables.
Passionate about production and enjoys exploring new styles and techniques; keeps up to date with industry tools and best practices; thorough understanding of evolving production processes and broadcast technologies.
Self-motivated, punctual, and able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Fast learner; adaptable.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 1- 3 years experience required.
