Sports Internship

WHTM-TV is currently accepting sports Internship applications for the 2023 fall semester. WHTM Sports internships are designed for aspiring sports reporters. Interns will work side-by-side with the WHTM sports team on their Friday Night Football show. Potential internship opportunities include shadowing in the field, at games and at press conferences. College Internships for this semester are unpaid. Interns must be receiving college credit.

Internship Details:

Internship schedules will be based on requirements from college or university
Interns will be well-supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience
Upon completion of the internship, students will be evaluated through a written review by the internship supervisor
Assist with Friday Night Football show
Learn how to work in a local television station within the sports department
Juniors and seniors studying broadcast journalism, video production, or other communication degrees
Internships must be for school credit
A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn
Abide by all safety rules and procedures of the Company
Exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperating with and following the instructions of employees of the Company
Maintain strictly the confidences of the Company, the customers of the Company, all information or data received regarding the Company and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the student
