Senior Editor, Service — WIRED

WIRED is seeking an experienced editor to lead our service coverage. You’ll work closely with both full-time staff and freelancers to help our readers better understand how to navigate the increasingly complex world around them through a mix of explainers, guides, round-ups, and more. We’re looking for someone with subject-matter expertise across all of the topics in our world: mobile apps, the smart home, online services, privacy, security, battery technology, parenting tech, and beyond. You should be a deft line editor who values style as well as substance; we're not looking for the usual SEO chum. You should have demonstrated experience anticipating trends and news cycles, not just reacting to them. Because this role works across all of our coverage areas, you should be both highly organized and collaborative, capable of juggling multiple story types, topics, and deadlines with ease. Above all, you should be passionate about service journalism and its ability to improve readers’ lives.
