Meteorologist

West Michigan’s legacy station, WOOD TV8, has an opening for a highly experienced Meteorologist to join Storm Team 8, with assignment to some of our highest rated news time periods. This is an extremely rare opportunity in a great city with an excellent quality of life.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about weather and would embrace the challenge of forecasting in an active weather market along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The successful candidate must know how to make the forecast presentable and interesting, as well as impactful during times of severe or “inconvenient weather”. The Meteorologist will forecast weather conditions and produce and anchor weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers.

A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent of education and experience is required. Candidates should have a minimum of five years experience in weather reporting or anchoring, a superior on-air presence, LIVE reporting experience, and the AMS Seal of approval.
