The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to help cover the U.S. economy as part of a team in the nation's capital. This beat involves a wide range of market-sensitive news in a fast-paced environment. Speed, accuracy and enthusiasm for business and economics reporting are essential.

The reporter will report, explain, analyze and bring to life the story of how our economy is evolving through the economic data and other news released by government agencies including the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department, Labor Department and Commerce Department. The reporter’s stories will run across all of our platforms, including the print Wall Street Journal, wsj.com, Dow Jones Newswires, WSJ Pro Central Banking, newsletters, podcasts, video and social media. Some travel is possible to help cover Federal Reserve and Treasury officials at events. We offer hands-on training and mentoring, with an emphasis on storytelling, data analysis, visualization and specialized software for economic data.
