The Off Duty section of The Wall Street Journal, a lifestyle service section that appears weekly in print and daily on wsj.com , is seeking a news assistant to work with its food, design, travel and gear sections. This is an entry-level position that would be suitable for applicants with at least one year of experience in relevant lifestyle editorial or recent journalism graduates with relevant internships and experience. We are specifically looking for someone with a passion for organization, who is meticulously detail-oriented, responsible, able to juggle a wide variety of responsibilities both administrative and creative, and eager to participate in all facets of a national lifestyle publication. A lively sense of humor and a grasp of the lifestyle zeitgeist are definite assets. The person in this position will have opportunities to report, write and pitch story ideas, depending on aptitude and skill set. Experience working with a CMS and the entire Google suite would be a plus.
