The China bureau of the Wall Street Journal is seeking a resourceful and energetic reporter to cover technology and the way it is shaping governance and daily life in China—and increasingly, around the world. This is a broad beat that will encompass the fullness of technology, from semiconductors and the global hardware supply chain to social media and censorship and their impact on politics.

You will be expected to work closely with, and contribute to, a corporate news team in Beijing and Shanghai that is consistently ahead of the competition in breaking news about Chinese tech players, Silicon Valley companies doing business in China and startups. You will also offer our readers the context and perspective to understand how innovations and developments taking place in China -- a country with its own quirks and constraints, and its own internet -- are driving the changes sweeping the world of technology.
