SME stands for – Small Medium Enterprise. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers fall below certain limits, with the abbreviation “SME” being used in the European Union. SMEs are also said to be responsible for driving innovation and competition in many economic sectors.

The SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards are open to all sole traders and businesses in the region with less than 250 employees, who commenced business before January 2016, or for new buinesses who started after January 2016.
